The unit was lovely and had bathtubs. The location was easy and magnificent, just a pleasant stroll away from an Oriental gallery. The area felt secure. The restaurant was good for dinner.

Nice staff.
The hotel needs renovation - especially the entrance. The surroundings of the hotel in some parts is more than terrible - I could see almost only rubbish and dirt from my window.

After reading other reviews of the hotel I was unsure what to expect. Apart from the steps leading to the entrance of the hotel which could be a hinderance to less able people and the elderly I enjoyed my stay at Hotel TIA and found the staff friendly and helpful. The lifts, although smallish worked well and the room was clean, bright and airy. Found the shower was very good.
Felt there was a lack of choice at breakfast with the same being offered every day. If you didn't like it you would not have much of a meal. Saying that however the food on offer was quite tasty. I felt the food was aimed at a more European, especially Eastern European clientele, which is probably usual for a hotel in Riga.

15 minutes from the Old Town. Good buffet breakfast. The room was cleaned every day. There was a mini bar in the room. Free public parking nearby.
Not much space in the room. Windows are facing a dark gloomy courtyard. Trashcan on the hotel entry was broken and rubbish was lying around.

Location - just 15 min. walk to old town. Breakfast was good. Free public parking. Easy navigation to and from hotel.
No hot water (I mean really hot) in bathroom, just warm, but it was enough warm to take a shower. No air conditioning in the room.

Rooms are clear and suitable, Hotel has good location
Really high price for that service, absolutely disgusting views from the room, and our double room for me and my wife were much cheaper than single room for my mother-in-law together with extra-bed for my daughter. Why? They do not accept EURO cash. Why!? Also absolute lack of space in a room and WC :(

Great location, just a moments walk away from many Art Nouveau buildings and around a 15 minute stroll to the Old Town. I paid around £100 for a double room for 3 nights including breakfast for 2 and at that price I really don't think you will find a better hotel in Riga!
When booking if you want a double room you must select "double or twin room" then write in the box for special requests below that you want a double bed. However I did not know this (and think its a strange system anyway) so as a result when I turned up I had been given a twin room, not a double room, which obviously is not what I was hoping for, for a romantic trip with my girlfriend. However, the staff were very helpful and gave us a room with a double bed, that was just across the hall way, the next morning. I think this is really a critism of Booked.net as no where on the booking page did it mention that I had to state that I wanted a double bed and I just assumed.

Hotel staff were very helpful with direction, suggestions and I even was offered an umbrella during a rain storm.
It's not the hotel. The hotel was fine and I would stay there again. My dislike was for the cab driver I got the morning of my departure. I don't know if they can control the fees charged by the cabbies but I found this particular driver's prices ridiculous and threw a "hissy fit" until I was refunded some of the money he was charging.
